Nettie Wakefield

Nettie Wakefield is an internationally exhibited London-based contemporary artist with a strong foundation in art history and a dedicated commitment to traditional draughtsmanship.

Working in a Realism style, Wakefield uses her art to highlight the importance of everyday life and emphasise human transience; focusing on the often-overlooked details of the mundane facets of life that are so often taken for granted.

The artist works mostly using pencil on paper, sometimes incorporating watercolours; she observes her subject intently, captures its form realistically and isolates it, suspending it within the space of a blank surface.
