What is a limited-edition print?
A limited-edition print is a print taken from a finite run of prints produced from an original artwork. These prints are hand-numbered and signed either directly by the artist, or the artist’s estate and once printed, there are no further copies produced, making these artworks a valuable addition to an art investment portfolio.
Are limited-edition prints more affordable?
Limited-edition prints cost significantly less than original works of art but they still hold and increase in value, and are highly collectable assets.
How many prints are in an edition?
This varies from artist to artist and from edition to edition, however, artists usually choose somewhere between 20-250 prints in a limited-edition print run. Generally, the fewer prints that are produced, the higher the demand.
What is the quality of a limited-edition print?
Limited-edition prints should be of the highest quality because unlike open edition prints, they are not mass-produced. The limited-edition prints available in our collection are museum-quality art prints that are produced using archival inks and papers by Giclée printing specialists.
