Jockeys is one of a set of four limited edition prints depicting characters from the colourful world of horse-racing. From the smooth Newmarket trainer to the wiry jockey, each one is very much a type, and although Peter Curling has been careful not to be absolutely specific in his portrayal, regular followers of the turf will enjoy trying to put names to faces and seeing from where Peter gets his inspiration.
Each print is hand signed by the artist and hand numbered.
About the Artist
Peter Curling
Born in Waterford in Ireland in 1955, Peter Curling spent his early years in County Clare before moving to England with his family in 1963. In England he won an art scholarship to Millfield, where his work was seen by Aylmer Tryon, founder of the Tryon Gallery.
