Grouse by a Moorland Stream

Grouse by a Moorland Stream by Rodger Mcphail is a beautiful art print of a moorland stream close to McPhail’s home in The Trough of Bowland, Lancashire. The stream is actually the infant River Hodder before it flows into the Stocks Resevoir. McPhail frequently walks along the margins of this stream, looking for snakes and other animals. ‘I am very interested in adders,’ he enthuses, ‘and have had a book published about them.’
His love for observing and painting nature and wildlife outdoors fit perfectly with his hobbies of trekking and exploring. This immediacy allows him to capture the very essence of the British countryside. The grouse seen taking flight in this painting were an unexpected and dramatic moment caught during a favourite moorland walk and are a perfect example of McPhail’s work.
Each print is hand numbered and accompanied by a certificate signed by the artist. The certificate is numbered to match the print.
