Lean on Me: All of Deborah Azzopardi's work represents, from her perspective, a snapshot of just a single moment in time. This image represents, as indeed with all her paintings, a part of life. Moreover it is a brief glimpse of life that the artist focuses on and brings to our attention. Without which these moments and snapshots get lost and forgoten amongst the haze of everyday living.
The viewer can use their own imagination and come to many conclusions about the characters in the painting. Are they a happy couple, or is either in the process of being consoled? Is the male figure being supported physically by the female figure? This is all left entirely for the viewer to decide, Deborah leaves the viewer to solve
Each print is hand numbered and accompanied by a certificate signed by the artist. The certificate is numbered to match the print.
About the Artist
The London based artist Deborah Azzopardi emerged from a background in commercial art, where her clients included household names such as Bovril, Bisto, and Disney. It was enjoyable but demanding work, and after a serious illness some years ago she decided to concentrate on painting subjects that really meant something to her, reasoning that ‘Life’s short, and if you do what you love then everything else will eventually fall into place’.Find out more
