Paul Evans is one of Britain's leading landscape painters and is particularly known for his highly individual paintings inspired by the shores and coastline of East Anglia, the downlands of Sussex, the Kent Weald and the rugged coasts and moors of Cornwall. His painting explores only a few locations in detail through all times of the year to convey a deep and local sense of place, and he is constantly experimenting with techniques and materials, finding new ways to reflect the changing light and seasons in his work. He likes to concentrate on one specific location and in 2004 he spent a year following the changes in a wood, recording the seasons, weather, life and atmosphere in his watercolour studies, drawings, etchings, and acrylics to produce a body of work reflecting the wood’s complete twelve-month cycle.
Autumn Glade and its pair, Autumn Lane, represent the culmination of that project.
Each print is hand numbered and accompanied by a certificate signed by the artist. The certificate is numbered to match the print.
