Mervyn Goode’s painting today is marked by its combination of welcoming intimacy and openness of canvas. Whilst influenced in the past by great traditional landscape artists like Constable and the French Impressionists, he has developed over the years a warmth and style of painting which is recognizably his own. Summer Farm was painted on a perfect July afternoon within a stone's throw of the South Downs. The composition, which was entirely painted from nature, includes many themes dear to the artist and familiar to collectors of his work, including the tranquil summer countryside, the old-fashioned fingerpost, the cornfield path and the beautifully-situated farmhouse in local mellow-brick.
Each print is hand signed by the artist and hand numbered.
